More information about the Dubai metro

The Dubai metro consists of two main lines, the red line and the green line, both of which are automated and driverless. The Dubai metro is known to be one of the fastest and safest in the world, and it is highly appreciated by travelers for its cleanliness and comfort.

The Dubai metro was inaugurated in 2009, and it was the world's first automated, driverless metro line at that time. Since its opening, the Dubai metro network has experienced rapid growth and has been expanded to new areas of the city.

The Dubai metro operates every day of the week, from 6:00 AM to midnight.

There are special compartments in the Dubai metro cars, including compartments reserved for women, family-friendly compartments, and luxury compartments for VIP travelers.

Dubai Metro Fare

For a journey within a single zone, you can use a Silver Card to pay 3 AED or a Gold Card to pay 6 AED. With a Red Ticket, the price will be 4 AED in standard class and 8 AED in Gold Class.

For a journey with a maximum of 3 transfers and not crossing more than 2 zones, you can use a Silver Card to pay 5 AED or a Gold Card to pay 10 AED. With a Red Ticket, the price will be 6 AED in standard class and 12 AED in Gold Class.

For the longest journeys crossing 3 zones or more, you can use a Silver Card to pay 7.50 AED or a Gold Card to pay 15 AED. With a Red Ticket, the price will be 8.50 AED in standard class and 17 AED in Gold Class.

1 AED is approximately equal to 0.20 EUR. However, it is important to check the current exchange rate before making currency transactions.

Red Line

It has 29 stations and measures over 52 km. There are two connections with the green line of the Dubai metro, at Union and Bur Juman stations.

Green Line

Operational since 2009, the green line consists of 20 stations over more than 22 km of tracks.
