The Berlin Metro (U-Bahn), managed by the company BVG, consists of 9 metro lines covering over 146km of tracks. Inaugurated at the beginning of the last century in 1902, it comprises 272 metro trains. It will take you from the outskirts of Berlin to the city center.
The operating hours of the Berlin Metro are from approximately 04:30 to 00:30, and it operates almost continuously on weekends.

If you have reduced mobility, don't worry. You can move easily on the platforms of the lines, as most stations are accessible to people with disabilities, and Line U5 is completely adapted for people with reduced mobility. You will recognize the metro entrances by the White U sign with a blue background.
The metro stations are very clean and aesthetic. As for the ticket price, it depends on the metro zone you want to travel to. There are three zones with a different price for a metro, bus, or tram ticket:
€2 for zone A
€3 for zone AB
€3.80 for zone ABC
Day pass is €6.10
Weekly pass is €26.20
There are, of course, group discounts or reduced rates for children aged between 6 and 14. Below 6 years, transportation is free in Berlin. You will find a special card for tourists, the Berlin Welcome Card, which allows you to travel unlimitedly throughout the German capital. It can be valid for the whole family. There are also many subscriptions for locals. Note that there are no barriers in Germany, but checks are frequent, and the fine is €60 if you do not have your ticket.
Line U1
Line U1 runs from northwest to southeast Berlin, starting at Uhlandstraße station and going to Warschauer Straße. It is the oldest station. It will take you to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church or to Wittenbergplatz next to the KaDeWe shopping center.
